Author name: 11 Plus Tuition Team

Parents expect an age in reply. The real answer is readiness – and a free assessment settles it better than guesswork.

The Birmingham 11+ is two separate applications with two deadlines four months apart – plus a third, earlier one for reasonable adjustments that catches families out every year.

There is no single pass mark. The qualifying score for 2027 entry is 205, but the number that decides a place is each school’s own cut-off – and in 2026 those ranged from 216 to 255.

Two papers, four subjects, and a weighting that catches most families out: half the marks rest on English and verbal reasoning, not maths.

Eight schools, one test, and thirty-nine marks between the hardest and the most accessible. What the published 2026 cut-offs actually tell you.
