The 11+ Is One of the Most Competitive Exams Your Child Will Face
Every year, thousands of children sit the 11+ exam — and the difference between a pass and a fail often comes down to just a handful of marks. Without proper, structured preparation, even bright children can fall short.
Most tutors focus only on subject knowledge. But the 11+ is also a test of speed, confidence, and exam technique — skills that have to be specifically trained.
“Our proven system addresses every area — knowledge, speed, accuracy, confidence and exam technique — in small groups where every child is seen.”

Real Families. Real Grammar School Places.
Over 20 years helping children earn places at All West Midlands Grammar Schools.
Joel and our team run both The Edgbaston Centre in Birmingham and this Kenilworth programme. Here are just a few of our testimonials.
“Sasha has been accepted at Wolverhampton Girls High School. Not only did she completely overcome her shyness — her concentration and confidence improved noticeably. By the time the exams arrived she was able to walk in with confidence, as if it was just business as usual.”
— Sevi Hasan
Daughter: Wolverhampton Girls High School
“I would recommend The Edgbaston Centre without reservation. They have helped us secure good grammar school places for both our children — who had previously been considered average academically. Extremely cost effective and flexible in respect of fees.”
— Dave
Both children: Grammar school places secured
“Our son was able to pass every single exam he took — Solihull, KES and King Edwards — in only 4 months. Most children start 20 months before. I would definitely use The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Sati Sekhon
Son: Passed Solihull, KES & King Edward’s
“Our son went from being an average/good student to a high achieving student who also did incredibly well in his SATs. He left primary school to move onto King Edwards Aston. None of this would have been possible without The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Mandeep Dhillon
Son: King Edwards Aston
“We were told our son was borderline for grammar school. We enrolled with Joel and not only did he enjoy the experience — he successfully gained a place at King Edward’s Five Ways. We’ll definitely be enrolling our daughter next year.”
— Parent
Son: King Edward’s Five Ways
“We were more than impressed. The team was brilliant and consistent — the already high standards were constantly being raised but the children were always happy. The mock exams helped greatly in getting pupils in the right frame of mind. We are already thinking about registering our other daughter.”
— Mr & Mrs C. Aghanenu

📝 OUR EXPERT RECOMMENDATION
Complement Your Course with Mock Exams
We strongly recommend that all our Year 5 students sit regular mock exams alongside this programme. Timed, realistic practice papers build the exam-day composure that tuition alone can’t fully replicate — and the improvement from paper to paper is one of the most motivating things a child can experience.
For this we recommend the All 10 Mock Exam Package by 11 Plus Mocks — the package we point every one of our Year 5 families towards.
- ✅ 10 full mock exams — enough to track real progress across the year
- ✅ Realistic 11+ exam conditions and format
- ✅ Builds speed, accuracy and composure under pressure
- ✅ Works perfectly alongside this Saturday programme

This is a separate purchase directly with 11 Plus Mocks, not part of your course fee. We recommend it because it gets results — not because we earn from it.

Frequently Asked Questions
This programme is designed for children currently in Year 4 who will be entering Year 5 in September 2026. It gives a full academic year of structured preparation before the 11+ exams at the start of Year 6.
The two session formats work differently:
Saturday and Intensive in-centre sessions: capped at a maximum of 8 children per tutor. This is a firm limit — we do not compromise on it. It ensures every child receives individual attention and the tutor can monitor each child’s progress closely.
Online evening sessions (Tue/Wed/Thu): these are live interactive Q&A sessions using real-time polls to keep every child actively participating. The platform is configured so each child sees only the tutor — not other children — which eliminates distractions and promotes focus. These sessions are scalable and do not apply the 8-per-tutor cap. Every child also receives a personalised Friday email report with their marked answers from that week.
All four core 11+ subjects: English (Tuesdays online), Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning (Wednesdays online), and Verbal Reasoning (Thursdays online). All subjects are also integrated into the Saturday in-centre sessions and the Intensive Courses.
Saturday sessions begin on 13th September 2026 and run through to 4th July 2027. You can choose either the 9am–11am, 11am–1pm, or 1pm–3pm (subject to availability). Online evening sessions begin the week of 8th September 2026 at 6:15pm–7:15pm.
Yes — the Saturday and Intensive in-centre sessions and the three weekly online evening sessions are all part of the same integrated programme. Each element is designed to complement the others, and the full 250 hours of tuition is what delivers the results our families see.
Our students have secured places at King Edward’s Camp Hill (Boys and Girls), King Edward’s Five Ways (Boys and Girls), King Edwards Aston (Boys), King Edward’s Handsworth (Girls) King Edward’s Handsworth Grammar (Boys), King Edward’s School (Boys), King Edward’s High School (Girls), Queen Mary’s Grammar School (Boys), Queen Mary’s High School (Girls) Wolverhampton Girls High School (WGHS), Solihull School (Boys and Girls), and other selective schools across the Midlands. We have over 20 years of experience helping children achieve these outcomes.
