A structured, age-appropriate Year 3 programme — laying the English and Mathematics foundations that make Year 4 & Year 5 preparation significantly more effective.
70 hours of face-to-face tuition at Apollo Hotel, Edgbaston — Choose 11am–1pm or 1pm–3pm. Runs September 2026 – July 2027.
Year 3 deliberately focuses on English and Mathematics — the two core pillars of the 11+. Building these deeply in Year 3 means Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning can be added in Year 4 and Year 5 on top of solid foundations. This is how top-performing students are built.
We help children to develop strong working habits. Help your child to develop the skills needed to succeed in the 11 plus.
Every Saturday in-centre group is capped at a maximum of 8 children per tutor — a firm limit, never compromised. For focused individual attention, with the motivational benefits of a group environment.
We specifically train children to work quickly and precisely under timed conditions — a critical skill that is needed to pass the 11+.
Every week children are given homework to complete. We always recommend getting into the habit of doing some homework each day. A small amount of work consistently is more effective that doing a lot of homework in one go without a regular schedule.
35 Saturday in-centre sessions at Apollo Hotel, Edgbaston, Birmingham — 35 weekly Saturdays.
Choice of time slot:
11am–1pm | 1pm–3pm
Sep 2026 → Jul 2027, across 3 terms
A structured 3-term curriculum that builds knowledge, speed and confidence progressively — so children develop independence and the strong foundation needed for success.
Term 1: Sep – Dec 2026
Term 2: Jan – Mar 2027
Term 3: Apr – Jul 2027
Every year, thousands of children sit the 11+ exam — and the difference between a pass and a fail often comes down to just a handful of marks. Without proper, structured preparation, even bright children can fall short.
Most tutors focus only on subject knowledge alone. But the 11+ is also a test of speed, confidence, and exam technique — skills that have to be specifically trained.
“Our proven system addresses every area — knowledge, speed, accuracy, confidence and exam technique — in small groups where every child is seen.”
Over 20 years helping children earn places at All West Midlands Grammar Schools.
Joel and our team run both The Edgbaston Centre in Birmingham and this Kenilworth programme. Here are just a few of our testimonials.
“Sasha has been accepted at Wolverhampton Girls High School. Not only did she completely overcome her shyness — her concentration and confidence improved noticeably. By the time the exams arrived she was able to walk in with confidence, as if it was just business as usual.”
— Sevi Hasan
Daughter: Wolverhampton Girls High School
“I would recommend The Edgbaston Centre without reservation. They have helped us secure good grammar school places for both our children — who had previously been considered average academically. Extremely cost effective and flexible in respect of fees.”
— Dave
Both children: Grammar school places secured
“Our son was able to pass every single exam he took — Solihull, KES and King Edwards — in only 4 months. Most children start 20 months before. I would definitely use The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Sati Sekhon
Son: Passed Solihull, KES & King Edward’s
“Our son went from being an average/good student to a high achieving student who also did incredibly well in his SATs. He left primary school to move onto King Edwards Aston. None of this would have been possible without The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Mandeep Dhillon
Son: King Edwards Aston
“We were told our son was borderline for grammar school. We enrolled with Joel and not only did he enjoy the experience — he successfully gained a place at King Edward’s Five Ways. We’ll definitely be enrolling our daughter next year.”
— Parent
Son: King Edward’s Five Ways
“We were more than impressed. The team was brilliant and consistent — the already high standards were constantly being raised but the children were always happy. The mock exams helped greatly in getting pupils in the right frame of mind. We are already thinking about registering our other daughter.”
— Mr & Mrs C. Aghanenu
