A structured, age-appropriate Year 4 programme — laying the English, Mathematics & Verbal Reasoning foundations that make Year 5 preparation significantly more effective.
70 hours of face-to-face tuition at Apollo Hotel, Edgbaston — Choose 9am–11am, 11am–1pm or 1pm–3pm. Runs September 2026 – July 2027.
Year 4 deliberately focuses on English, Mathematics & Verbal Reasoning — core pillars of the 11+. Building these deeply in Year 4 means Non-Verbal Reasoning can be added in Year 5 on top of solid foundations. This is how top-performing students are built.
70 live interactive sessions, Monday (Mathematics), Tuesday (English), 6:15–7:15pm. Real-time polls keep every child actively engaged. Each child sees only the tutor — no distractions from classmates — promoting full focus.
Every Saturday in-centre group is capped at a maximum of 8 children per tutor — a firm limit, never compromised. For focused individual attention.
We specifically train children to work quickly and precisely under timed conditions — a critical skill that determines pass or fail in the 11+.
Every Friday evening, parents receive a personalised email report with their child's marked answers from that week's online sessions — clear visibility of progress, no guesswork.

Every year, thousands of children sit the 11+ exam — and the difference between a pass and a fail often comes down to just a handful of marks. Without proper, structured preparation, even bright children can fall short.
Most tutors focus only on subject knowledge. But the 11+ is also a test of speed, confidence, and exam technique — skills that have to be specifically trained.
“Our proven system addresses every area — knowledge, speed, accuracy, confidence and exam technique — in small groups where every child is seen.”
Over 20 years helping children earn places at All West Midlands Grammar Schools. Here are just a few of our testimonials.
“Sasha has been accepted at Wolverhampton Girls High School. Not only did she completely overcome her shyness — her concentration and confidence improved noticeably. By the time the exams arrived she was able to walk in with confidence, as if it was just business as usual.”
— Sevi Hasan
Daughter: Wolverhampton Girls High School
“I would recommend The Edgbaston Centre without reservation. They have helped us secure good grammar school places for both our children — who had previously been considered average academically. Extremely cost effective and flexible in respect of fees.”
— Dave
Both children: Grammar school places secured
“Our son was able to pass every single exam he took — Solihull, KES and King Edwards — in only 4 months. Most children start 20 months before. I would definitely use The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Sati Sekhon
Son: Passed Solihull, KES & King Edward’s
“Our son went from being an average/good student to a high achieving student who also did incredibly well in his SATs. He left primary school to move onto King Edwards Aston. None of this would have been possible without The Edgbaston Centre.”
— Mandeep Dhillon
Son: King Edwards Aston
“We were told our son was borderline for grammar school. We enrolled with Joel and not only did he enjoy the experience — he successfully gained a place at King Edward’s Five Ways. We’ll definitely be enrolling our daughter next year.”
— Parent
Son: King Edward’s Five Ways
“We were more than impressed. The team was brilliant and consistent — the already high standards were constantly being raised but the children were always happy. The mock exams helped greatly in getting pupils in the right frame of mind. We are already thinking about registering our other daughter.”
— Mr & Mrs C. Aghanenu

This programme is designed for children entering Year 4 in September 2026. Starting now gives two full years of structured preparation before the 11+ exams in Year 6 — English, Maths & Verbal Reasoning foundations in Year 4, then all four subjects in Year 5.
The two session formats work differently:
Saturday and Intensive in-centre sessions: capped at a maximum of 8 children per tutor. This is a firm limit — we do not compromise on it. It ensures every child receives individual attention and the tutor can monitor each child’s progress closely.
Online evening sessions (Mon/Tue): these are live interactive Q&A sessions using real-time polls to keep every child actively participating. The platform is configured so each child sees only the tutor — not other children — which eliminates distractions and promotes focus. These sessions are scalable and do not apply the 8-per-tutor cap. Every child also receives a personalised Friday email report with their marked answers from that week.
Three core 11+ subjects: Mathematics (Monday online) and English (Tuesday online). English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning are also integrated into the Saturday in-centre sessions.
Saturday sessions begin on 12th September 2026 and run through to 3rd July 2027. You can choose either the 9am–11am, 11am–1pm, or 1pm–3pm (subject to availability). Online evening sessions begin the week of 7th September 2026 at 6:15pm–7:15pm.
Plan 1 (£2,000 total): £500 initial payment now to secure the place, then one further payment of £1,500 on 1st September 2026. Plan 2 (£2,500 total): £500 initial payment now to secure the place, then 10 monthly payments of £200 starting from 1st September 2026. Both plans are secured with the initial £500 payment.
Yes — the Saturday and Intensive in-centre sessions and the three weekly online evening sessions are all part of the same integrated programme. Each element is designed to complement the others, and the full 140 hours of tuition is what delivers the results our families see.
